DAVIDAU DELETED MY POST AND BANNED ME FOR ASKING ABOUT BENCHMARKS — HERE IS THE FULL ANALYSIS (9B + 27B + 390 MODELS)

Community Article
Published August 11, 2026

I posted a discussion on the Qwen3.6-27B-Fable-Fusion-711 model page asking for modern benchmarks (SWE-bench, Terminal-Bench, GPQA, LiveCodeBench). DavidAU did not respond. He did not close the discussion. He deleted it and then blocked me from interacting with any of his repositories ("you're not enabled to interact with this user").

So now I'm posting this here. If he deletes this too, the community will see the pattern.

WHAT HAPPENED

  1. I posted a discussion on DavidAU/Qwen3.6-27B-Fable-Fusion-711-Uncensored-Heretic-NM-DAU-NEO-MAX-MTP-GGUF asking for SWE-bench Verified, Terminal-Bench 2.0, GPQA Diamond, LiveCodeBench, AIME, and HMMT scores
  2. DavidAU deleted the post — not closed, deleted
  3. He then blocked me from all his repositories
  4. I can no longer post discussions, comments, or interact on any of his 390+ model repos

This is the same person who:

  • Closed Discussion #10 on the 9B model after user KottCh reported the model failed at a basic coding task (Fermat's factorization) — closed the next day, no response
  • Ignored FreeGoldRush when they directly asked for SWE-bench Verified scores in Discussion #1 on the 27B model
  • Pinned positive discussions (Discussion #11: "Perfect Tool Calling") while deleting critical ones
  • Responded to criticism with "Trust me bro, it's the best" when asked for real benchmark results

The pattern is clear: close, ignore, delete, ban. When the model fails — close the discussion. When someone asks for modern benchmarks — ignore them. When someone posts a critical analysis — delete it and ban the user.

THE TWO MODELS ANALYZED

Model 1: Qwen3.5-9B-The-Defiant-Fable-Uncensored-Heretic-NEO-IMATRIX-MAX-MTP-GGUF

  • 419,415 downloads/month
  • Claims: "ABSOLUTE FIRE: 640 ARC-C for both 8bit and 4bit"
  • Claims: "Extreme intelligence in a small package. Jaw dropping performance."
  • Claims: "Model exceeds 7 of 7 benchmarks for Qwen 3.5 9B, Qwen3.5 27B, Qwen3.6 35B-A3B"

Model 2: Qwen3.6-27B-Fable-Fusion-711-Uncensored-Heretic-NM-DAU-NEO-MAX-MTP-GGUF

  • 1.6 million+ downloads, 25,000+ on GGUF per month, 1,500+ likes
  • Claims: "The first fine tune to exceed 700 'arc-c' (The OpenAI, Claude and Gemini 'zone of intelligence')"
  • Claims: "The 700 'intelligence club' is reserved for OpenAI, Claude and Gemini closed source models"
  • Claims: "This is the one they fear"

Both models use the exact same 7 benchmarks. Both make extraordinary intelligence claims based on those 7 benchmarks. Neither model has been tested on a single modern benchmark.

THE 7 BENCHMARKS — ALWAYS THE SAME, ALWAYS SATURATED

Every single model in DavidAU's catalog — all 390+ of them — uses the same 7 benchmarks:

Benchmark Year What It Measures Status
ARC-C 2018 Elementary science MCQ Saturated
ARC-E 2018 Elementary science (easy) Saturated
BOOLQ 2019 Yes/No reading comprehension Saturated
HellaSwag 2019 Sentence completion Saturated
OpenBookQA 2018 Factual knowledge Saturated
PIQA 2019 Physical commonsense Saturated
Winogrande 2019 Pronoun resolution Saturated

All from 2018-2019. All designed for the BERT/GPT-2 era. Models as small as 3B parameters score 55%+ on ARC-C now. These benchmarks do not discriminate between a decent model and a genuinely intelligent one.

9B benchmarks

ARC-C ARC-E BOOLQ HellaSwag OBQA PIQA Winogrande

This model 0.649 0.832 0.895 0.713 0.482 0.783 0.699 (bf16)
Qwen 3.5 9B 0.571 0.719 0.895 0.683 0.426 0.770 0.671 (mxfp8)
Qwen 3.5 27B 0.557 0.711 0.868 0.533 0.452 0.706 0.695
Qwen 3.6 27B 0.647 0.803 0.910 0.773 0.450 0.806 0.742
Qwen 3.6 35B 0.581 0.757 0.892 0.751 0.428 0.803 0.688

27B benchmarks

Fusion-711 0.711 0.879 0.910 0.790 0.514 0.823 0.763
Qwen 3.6 0.647 0.803 0.910 0.773 0.450 0.806 0.742
  • BOOLQ is identical on both models (0.895 = 0.895 on 9B, 0.910 = 0.910 on 27B). Zero improvement.
  • The "711" in the 27B model name = ARC-C 0.711. The base Qwen 3.6 27B scores 0.647. So the entire "zone of intelligence" claim is built on a 6.4% improvement on a single saturated benchmark.
  • On the 40B expansion (Qwen3.6-40B-Grand-Intelligence-Six-711-717-raw), ARC-C dropped from 0.711 to 0.695. The 40B is worse on the one benchmark that supposedly defines "intelligence." And the card still claims it operates at "OpenAI, Claude and Gemini" levels.

THE RESEARCH THAT INVALIDATES THE ARC-C CLAIM

A 2024 paper from Snowflake AI Research (Borchmann, arXiv:2412.17758 — "In Case You Missed It: ARC 'Challenge' Is Not That Challenging") directly demonstrated that ARC-C's perceived difficulty is an artifact of the evaluation setup, not the actual complexity of the questions:

  • When Llama 3.1 70B was evaluated with all answer options visible (how humans take tests), ARC-C accuracy jumped from 64% to 93% — a 29-point swing just from changing the format
  • 31% of ARC-C questions are "hardly answerable in separation" — they require comparing options to answer, but get evaluated without showing all choices
  • OpenBookQA went from 48% to 89% with correct evaluation — meaning it's essentially "solved," and any score differences are eval artifacts
  • The authors' conclusion: "The previously perceived difficulty was primarily an artifact of the evaluation method rather than the tasks' complexity"

So ARC-C was never an "intelligence barrier." It was a formatting issue. The "700 club" isn't some exclusive frontier model zone — it's a number that moves 29 points depending on how you set up your evaluation harness.

OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini do not compete on ARC-C. They don't report it. They don't market around it. They compete on SWE-bench Verified, Terminal-Bench 2.0, GPQA Diamond, LiveCodeBench, AIME, and HMMT.

WHAT THE BASE MODELS ACTUALLY REPORT (AND DAVIDAU NEVER TESTS)

Qwen 3.5 9B official benchmarks (embedded inside DavidAU's own model card but never tested on his fine-tune):

Benchmark Qwen 3.5 9B What It Measures
MMLU-Pro 82.5 Advanced academic knowledge (10x harder than MMLU)
GPQA Diamond 81.7 PhD-level science questions
SuperGPQA 58.2 Expert-level questions
LiveCodeBench v6 65.6 Live competitive coding
BFCL-V4 66.1 Function calling / tool use
TAU2-Bench 79.1 Agent benchmark
HMMT Feb 25 83.2 Harvard-MIT Math Tournament
IFEval 91.5 Instruction following
DeepPlanning 18.0 Deep planning
OSWorld-Verified 41.8 OS agent benchmark
AndroidWorld 57.8 Android agent benchmark

Qwen 3.6 27B official benchmarks (the base model for the 27B fine-tune):

Benchmark Qwen 3.6 27B What It Measures
SWE-bench Verified 77.2 Real GitHub issue resolution
SWE-bench Pro 53.5 Harder coding agentic benchmark
Terminal-Bench 2.0 59.3 Agentic terminal performance
GPQA Diamond 87.8 PhD-level science questions
MMLU-Pro 86.2 Advanced academic knowledge
LiveCodeBench v6 83.9 Live competitive coding
AIME26 94.1 Math Olympiad
HMMT Feb 26 84.3 Harvard-MIT Math Tournament
SuperGPQA 66.0 Expert-level questions

The irony: the Qwen 3.5 9B official model card is literally copy-pasted inside DavidAU's README — showing all 25+ modern benchmarks that Qwen reports. He includes the card showing what the base model can do on SWE-bench, GPQA, LiveCodeBench, BFCL, TAU2-Bench — and then tests his fine-tune on none of them.

THE CLOSED/DELETED/IGNORED DISCUSSIONS

Discussion #10 on the 9B model — CLOSED

User KottCh tested the model on Fermat's factorization with two optimizations:

"test Fermat's factorization with optimization. no optim done, incorrect" "Thinking mode for precise coding tasks with temperature=0.6 also did not succeed"

The model failed at a straightforward coding task. DavidAU closed the discussion the next day. No response, no investigation.

Discussion #1 on the 27B GGUF model — IGNORED

User FreeGoldRush asked: "SWE-bench Verified score at q8 and q4?" DavidAU responded to other questions in the same thread but completely ignored the SWE-bench request.

Community responses:

darkmatter2222: "OK, and? Prove it!" Hunterx: "Q: 'Would you mind to share the real benchmark results please?' A: 'Trust me bro, it's the best.'"

Discussion #11 on the 27B model — PINNED (positive) but has negative reports

One user reported great agentic performance. But another responded: "I have been having a lot of problems with looping tool calls in Hermes with this model."

Discussion #7 on GPT-OSS 20B — gibberish output

User YardWeasel reported asking "Who was George Washington?" produced gibberish, meta-discussions, and the model rewriting its own output. DavidAU's response: "Q8s are 'padded'; reducing performance." — meaning the highest standard quant has reduced performance on his models.

User yingjiegao reported the 120B model "spitting gibberish 20% of the time."

Discussion #4 on GLM-4.7-Flash — titled "One of the worst FTs I've seen, congrats!"

My post on the 27B model — DELETED, user BANNED

I posted a discussion asking for modern benchmarks. DavidAU deleted it and blocked me from all his repositories.

The pattern: close, ignore, delete, ban.

THE GGUF QUALITY SITUATION

Custom quantization methods with no verification

DavidAU uses custom methods that don't exist in standard llama.cpp:

  • "NEO IMATRIX" — custom imatrix, no published calibration data, no perplexity measurements, no comparison to standard imatrix
  • "DI-MATRIX" — "averages of 2 imatrix datasets" — which datasets? What calibration text? How many chunks?
  • "TRI-MATRIX" — "averages of 3 imatrix datasets" — same questions
  • Output tensor modifications — "full precision - 16 bit" for all quants, no explanation of perplexity impact
  • MTP (Multi-Token Prediction) GGUFs — MTP tensors set to Q8_0, no documentation on quality impact

The model card claims NEO IMATRIX "improve accuracy of the quants by an additional 2-4% over normal GGUFs." 2-4% improvement is a significant claim with zero evidence.

Legacy quants

Research on llama.cpp quantization is clear:

  • Q4_0 has roughly 5x the perplexity error of Q4_K_M at nearly identical file size
  • Legacy quants (Q4_0, Q4_1, Q5_0, Q5_1) use uniform scalar quantization — inferior to K-quants
  • IQ quants without a proper model-specific imatrix are usually worse than the equivalent K-quant
  • Double quantization "can severely reduce quality" — llama.cpp refuses this by default

DavidAU frequently uses legacy quants (Q5_1, Q4_1) instead of K-quants (Q5_K_M, Q4_K_M) with no explanation.

Flash attention issues

On GLM-4.7-Flash models, DavidAU's own card notes: "Quants prior to this commit (as well as Imatrix generation) performed poorly." and "Disable Flash Attn until this issue is resolved."

THE SCALE OF THE PROBLEM

DavidAU has 5 collections on Hugging Face:

  • Main collection: 284 models
  • Dark/evil/corrupt: 135 models
  • Heretic uncensored: 130 models
  • 0.8B to 87B: 65 models
  • Qwen 3.6 fine-tunes: 17 models

Total: approximately 390+ unique model repos. Combined downloads across these models are in the millions.

390+ models. Same 7 saturated benchmarks. Every. Single. Time.

And now, when someone asks for modern benchmarks, the response is to delete the post and ban the user.

THE PRESENTATION PROBLEM

Model names

Qwen3.5-9B-The-Defiant-Fable-Uncensored-Heretic-NEO-IMATRIX-MAX-MTP-GGUF — 80 characters. Compare with Qwen/Qwen3.5-9B — clean, identifiable.

Qwen3.6-27B-Fable-Fusion-711-Uncensored-Heretic-NM-DAU-NEO-MAX-MTP-GGUF — 68 characters. Compare with Qwen/Qwen3.6-27B — clean, identifiable.

README content

The 9B README is 145 KB. Most model cards are 2-10 KB. This one includes:

  • Marketing claims ("ABSOLUTE FIRE," "Jaw dropping performance," "Extreme intelligence")
  • The entire Qwen 3.5 9B official model card copy-pasted (thousands of words)
  • 4 full example generations (a ~2000-word cooling essay, a ~2000-word horror story with graphic gore, a ~1000-word self-promotional pitch with profanity, a ~2000-word Black Mirror episode set)
  • A random GIF (neo-dodge.gif, 4.22 MB)

The 27B README opens with:

"The strongest, smartest open source multi-stage model fine tune for consumer hardware ever and BUILT on consumer hardware via Unsloth."

And later: "This is the one they fear."

Compare with the Qwen 3.6 27B official model card: structured sections, 25+ benchmark tables, evaluation methodology footnotes (SWE-bench setup, Terminal-Bench harness, temperature, top_p, context window, number of runs), architecture specs, reproducible quickstart code, BibTeX citation. Night and day.

Reproducibility

Zero reproducibility in either model card. No eval scripts. No prompts. No harness config. No few-shot setup. No temperature. No sampling parameters. Just a bar chart from "Nightmedia" with no methodology. The Qwen 3.6 card tells you exactly how each benchmark was run. These cards tell you to trust a bar chart.

FINE-TUNING CAN IMPROVE LEGACY BENCHMARKS WHILE DEGRADING REAL CAPABILITIES

This is well-documented. Fine-tuning is not free. When you train a model to perform better on specific benchmarks, you can easily degrade its performance on other tasks — especially agentic ones.

The 9B model card even says "ZERO 'benchmaxing' (it damages the model)" — but then only reports the 7 saturated benchmarks where the fine-tune improved. We have zero information about whether this fine-tune:

  • Maintained the base model's 66.1 BFCL-V4 score (function calling)
  • Maintained the 79.1 TAU2-Bench score (agent benchmark)
  • Maintained the 65.6 LiveCodeBench v6 score (competitive coding)
  • Maintained the 81.7 GPQA Diamond score (PhD-level reasoning)
  • Maintained the 91.5 IFEval score (instruction following)
  • Can still do tool calling without loops (a user on the 27B model reported "looping tool calls")
  • Can still navigate OS environments (OSWorld: 41.8, AndroidWorld: 57.8)

The "human testing" claim — "the final testing was HUMAN testing. A trust, but verify approach" — is not a substitute for standardized benchmarks. "Human testing" with no methodology, no documented prompts, no reproducibility, and no published results is just anecdote.

WHAT I'M REQUESTING

1. Run the modern benchmarks. SWE-bench Verified, Terminal-Bench 2.0, GPQA Diamond, MMLU-Pro, LiveCodeBench v6, AIME26, HMMT Feb 26, SuperGPQA, BFCL-V4, TAU2-Bench. If the models truly operate in the "OpenAI, Claude and Gemini zone of intelligence," proving it on these benchmarks should be trivial.

2. Publish evaluation details. Which harness, what prompts, what few-shot config, what temperature, what sampling params, what context window, how many runs averaged. The Qwen team publishes all of this. SGLang, vLLM, KTransformers — all documented. These model cards have none of that.

3. Show perplexity numbers for the GGUFs. Compare each quant against F16 baseline using llama-perplexity. Compare NEO IMATRIX vs standard imatrix. Compare against quants from Bartowski or mradermacher. If the custom methods improve quality, the perplexity numbers will show it.

4. Explain the legacy quant choices. Why Q5_1 and Q4_1 instead of Q5_K_M and Q4_K_M? The K-quants are well-documented to be superior at similar file sizes.

5. Stop deleting and banning users who ask questions. I posted a discussion asking for modern benchmarks. The post was deleted and I was banned. Discussion #10 showing the model failing at coding was closed. FreeGoldRush's SWE-bench request was ignored. This is not how open-source communities work.

BOTTOM LINE

I'm not saying these models are bad. I genuinely don't know — and that's the problem. The only evidence provided is a set of 2018 benchmarks that research has shown to be unreliable discriminators, presented alongside marketing language ("This is the one they fear," "ABSOLUTE FIRE") and with zero modern benchmark coverage, zero reproducibility, and zero GGUF quality verification.

And when someone asks for modern benchmarks, the response is to delete the post and ban the user.

If the models are as good as claimed, proving it on SWE-bench, Terminal-Bench, and GPQA should be easy. If they're not, then the community deserves to know that too — before another million people download a model based on 2018 science quiz scores.

Show us the SWE-bench score. Show us the Terminal-Bench score. Show us the GPQA Diamond score.

If the claims hold up, I'll be the first to celebrate. But I need numbers, not slogans. And I need the right to ask questions without being banned.

If this post gets deleted too, that will be the most honest response possible — not in words, but in action.

Community

I've tested DavidAU's quants of 711 while making my own quants of that model. Output in 16-bit is just waste of model size. "LOW" quants are good on wiki though.
Full evidence here: https://huggingface.co/NikiKrutan/Qwen3.6-27B-Fable-Fusion-711-Uncensored-Heretic-NM-DAU-MTP-GGUF

40B model is strange. Less arc. Why better then?
nightmedia already has 740 arc for 27B sitting silently.

This was a thoughtful and very reasonably written post. I agree that community made model's finetunes should compete on the same standardized benchmarks as the "big boys' for the contributions to be actually meaningful. I am curious about his incessant, almost obsessive approach. Hopefully reason over feelings triumph at the end. I wish him success because we need this kind "the sky is the limit" spirit in this community, but it is unjustified to silence reasonable voices like yours. Hopefully we are not supporting a megalomaniac with high pretensions and something materializes sooner or later. Maybe he just saw your post and had a bad day. Post on reddit. Your critical reasoning should resonate with other people there without fearing getting banned for posting logical questions. On Hugging Face, in his thread, the home of his models, we are all subject to capricious behavior.

I have been using the new qwen3.8-27 fine-tunes of DavidAu. To be honest, i didn't notice any improvement in intelligence. Only less thinking tokens. that is it.

·

I notice there is some over-reaction when anything is posted about DavidAu work. I used his models. I do not hate them, but mentioning his lack of transparency overall ruffles some feathers on some weak minded people. I do not know if they silly teens with way too much time and money on their hands, but I could care a rat's ass. But to prove is not just for critique's sake, I will say that one of DavidAu's qwen 3.8 hacky finetunes gave me some Javascript and CSS styles I liked very much over the base results. Still, getting better consistent quality outputs is another matter altogether.
